Schools Getting Stuck in to Charity Support
Schools Getting Stuck in to Charity Support
We’ve been so thrilled by the support we’ve received from schools across the country so far in our efforts to support schools in raising money for some brilliant charities.
We are raising money for Mission4Water who dig wells in some of the most in need communities in Uganda first of all. We’re also supporting The Chilli Children Project in Uganda who offer a range of services to support and provide medical help for children and families with disabilities.
This last week I have been into Carr Hill High School to talk about these projects to every student in the school at a number of assemblies. It has been a real thrill to see how involved the students are and some of the ideas they and their teachers have had to raise as much money as possible.
They’ve set themselves a high target of funding an entire well and additional funds to support a family in Uganda through the Chilli Children Project.
They’ve had some incredible ideas too:
- The tech team have built a stunning well that will be kept near the tills in the dining room and students are encouraged to drop their change into the well when they’ve bough their lunch. Just 3p every week from every student in school would see them raise £2500 over the course of the year!
- Non-uniform day – traditionally they’ve had one a year for Children in Need and we’re over the moon that they’ve decided to split the proceeds with our charities this year!
- Sweet Sale – students sold sweets and raised over £100
- Raffle – parents and staff have got involved and sent in items for a raffle
- Shows and Performances – from a dance off to a full show, there are plans afoot for events that will raise lots of money for these vital charities
We’re so grateful for the support that we receive and the enormous difference the efforts that schools like Carr Hill put in will make to so many people.
Get Involved
I’m more than happy to come and present to your school if you’d like to get involved and can leave resources, leaflets, flyers and help with ideas to help you raise as much as possible. Get in touch if you’d like to get involved as well.
Why are we doing this?
Our business is a means to an end; we want to continue to take our business to the point where we build fantastic products that schools want to use at fantastic prices. As we grow, as Directors we hope to be more free to visit and support schools in raising as much money as possible for incredibly important charities.
