Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day – 21st March

Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day – 21st March

Share

21 March 2015 marks the 10th anniversary of World Down’s Syndrome Awareness Day and each year the voice of people with Down syndrome, and those who live and work with them, grows louder. Schudio are an active supporter of the Down’s Syndrome Association in the UK and we would love you to join us in raising awareness by taking part as a school or individually in this incredibly simple campaign.

People with Down syndrome face many challenges both as children and adults which may prevent them enjoying their basic human rights. Many people fail to understand that people with Down syndrome are people first, who may require additional support, but should be recognised by society on an equal basis with others, without discrimination on the basis of disability.

For the 10th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day and in the ‘21’st anniversary year of the ‘International Year of the Family’, we will be joining in the international celebration of people with Down’s Syndrome and their families by going a bit loopy with the ‘lots of socks‘ campaign.

Please join with us in this huge campaign to bring attention by wearing lots of socks on the 21st March 2015.

Tweet us your photos and we will share them with the Down’s Syndrome Association.

If you would like any more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The Down’s Syndrome Association is very close to Schudio as a family business as one of our children has Down’s Syndrome.
